Jolina Magdangal denied rumors that the ABS-CBN morning show “Magandang Buhay” will bid farewell, adding that new episodes were taped before April ended.

Rumors of “Magandang Buhay” ending for good swirled after the morning show ended its telecast on TV5 last March. However, neither the network nor the Kapamilya media giant addressed the reasons behind it.

Speaking to entertainment insider Ogie Diaz on his Showbiz Update vlog last Tuesday, April 30, Magdangal denied the morning show would end for good.

“Hindi. Kasi feeling ko rin, kung mag-end ‘yun, bakit hindi kami magpo-post or magthe-thank you sa lahat ng mga manonood. Pero dahil okay ang ‘Magandang Buhay’ pa, why not panoorin pa rin kahit replay,” she said.

(No. Because if it’s going to end, why aren’t we posting any thank you messages to our viewers? Since “Magandang Buhay” is still doing okay, why not watch the replays instead?)

The actress-host then revealed new episodes were filmed in April, while noting the rumors might have started after ending its run on TV5 and that replays of “Magandang Buhay” are being aired.

“Meron kaming ite-tape na episodes ng ‘Magandang Buhay’ bago mag-end ang April,” she said. “Pero siguro ang napapanood nila ay replays dahil talagang from the start ng pandemic and nagkaroon ng problema sa network, ‘yun ang sinabi sa’min — na may replays.”

Despite this, Magdangal is looking forward to the morning show’s new episodes in the coming days.

“Sanay kami na may replays. Pero ngayon na may nangyari sa ibang channel, talagang puro replays muna kami. But masaya kami na bago matapos ang April, may bagong episodes na ite-tape,” she said.

(We’re used to the replays. But since we stopped airing on the other channel, we’ll stick to replays for now. But we’re happy that we’ll film new episodes before April ends.)

Magdangal is one of the original hosts of “Magandang Buhay,” alongside Melai Cantiveros and Regine Velasquez. The morning show centers around heartwarming stories involving its featured guests.
