Tricia Centenera is happy being friends with ex Gab Valenciano: ‘I should hate him, I honestly don’t’

Tricia Centenera assures everybody that all is good between her and ex-hubby, Gab Valenciano.
On what would have been their third wedding anniversary, the fashion blogger shares that she is now happy being friends with him. She penned this in her latest entry in her personal blog, triciacentenera.net, yesterday.
She started off with how her phone “lit up like a Christmas tree of messages and memories” of their wedding. Centenera then admitted: “[B]ut the matter of the fact is that even though the wedding/weddings were magical, the marriage was not.”
Revealing that she saw Valenciano the night before, they did not even realize that it was almost their anniversary. She said of their encounter, “We had a friendly embrace & were surrounded by family, it was nice.”
“Even though I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy, I feel I really just did what other women around the world have done many times before me but mine was public so it was just noticed more,”she said of her split with Valenciano. “As I said I feel I just did what I had to do to better my situation & protect my body, mind, soul & most importantly my spirit.”
As a way to bounce back from her split, she took “time healing, stumbling many times. I spent time with Jesus. I dated myself. I allowed my family, friends & dogs to help me & love on me. And I fought for my career.”
Despite their rough past, she defended her ex, who was “a good man who has just made some bad choices.” She asked this question to his detractors: “[B]ut are any of you completely perfect?”
“I can say I’ve made some pretty poor life choices too but I believe it’s how we bounce back & get back up that’s what’s more important,” Centenera wrote of Valenciano. “There’s nothing wrong with failing forward & he is trying his best to be the best version of himself so please let him try.”
“Yes this man broke me however I didn’t let it ruin me forever,” she wrote. But through prayer, Centenera said she is now happy to call him a friend “even though the expectation is that as his ex-wife I should hate him, I honestly don’t.”
Centenera shared that Valenciano respects she is in a new relationship right now and “is sincerely happy for them.” She added that he is seeking love, healing advice and is trying for himself.
The two were married three times: a civil ceremony in the United States in 2014 and two weddings in Tagaytay and Boracay in 2015. They split in 2016 after she claimed that Valenciano cheated on her. She said in a Philippine Entertainment Portal interview that she has forgiven him. /ra
