Maine Mendoza bids goodbye to Twitter

Goodbye for now—Maine Mendoza deactivated her Twitter account following her recent displeasure with some “Aldub” fans.

On Thursday, the actress-comedian penned pungent tweets directed at some of her supporters who bashed actor Sef Cadayona, following rumors of their relationship.

“I do not get how people can throw so much hate on others. I mean…inano ba nila kayo? (What were they doing to you)?” she blurted out. “I know how much you love us and how hard you try to protect us but enough with the foul words, guys…Hindi na tama (It’s not right).”

Before she bid adieu to the social networking site over the weekend, Mendoza hinted the reason why she deactivated her account followed by 4.5 million users.

“When peace and love are no longer being served; and whenever you find yourself taking in so much negativity, you have to take a break and reflect,” her final tweet read, as captured by the Philippine Entertainment Portal. “Sometimes we need to disconnect to reconnect. Taking a break is necessary to save yourself and others from drowning. I hope we all stop pulling each other down.”

The TV drama series “Destined to Be Yours,” which also starred her on-screen lover, Alden Richards, ended recently reportedly because of unsteady ratings.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
