Ed Sheeran says he hooked up with Taylor Swift’s pals
No, Ed Sheeran has never been romantically involved with Taylor Swift, contrary to rumors. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter has, however, admitted that he had hooked up with some members of Taylor’s “squad.”
“I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates. It was very easy…,” Ed recently told Rolling Stone magazine. “I would often find myself in situations [where I] just kind of wake up, look over and be like, ‘How the f**k did that happen?”
But while the fans wonder who among Taylor’s friends Ed was referring to, the British artist’s new and third album, “÷ (Divide),” has just become Spotify’s most played album in a single day, with more than 56 million streams, according to music site NME. The record was held by The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” which notched 29 million.
Mamamoo scandal
The K-Pop girl group Mamamoo was recently in hot water, after a video of its members performing Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk”—in blackface—circulated online.
After receiving the inevitable backlash for the stunt, which is considered offensive, especially toward African-Americans, the band issued an apology, and promised to be more knowledgeable and sensitive to other cultures.

“We understand now why our actions were wrong, and we never meant to do harm with our video. We were extremely ignorant of blackface and did not understand the implications of our actions… We hope that you will help educate us on these and other issues, so that we can become better people and better artists.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
