Emma Watson, Miles Teller missed ‘La La Land’ roles for being ‘too demanding’—report

Hollywood darlings Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling did a splendid job as the lead stars of “LaLa Land”, portraying the characters of struggling artists Mia Dolan and Sebastian Wilder, respectively.
However, if the original casting plan would have pushed through, Emma Watson and Miles Teller were supposed to star in the romantic musical film.
According to Page Six, a “movie insider” revealed that the two high profile actors are now “raising hell” to their agents after missing out on the film, which has garnered a record-tying 14 Oscar nominations.
The 29-year-old Teller reportedly lost the role after falling out from a series of long contract negations, while Watson, 26, dropped out due to her commitment with the 2017 live adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast”.
“Miles was offered $4 million to star in ‘La La Land,’ but he said he wanted $6 million,” the unidentified source revealed in the report.
“Watson was offered the lead female role, but she initially wouldn’t commit. Then she began making all these crazy demands, like rehearsals for the film must be done in London — for a film called ‘La La Land’! They jumped through hoops to make it work with her, but she just didn’t feel the film was right for her.”
Another unnamed insider added: “Both Miles and Emma [expletive] themselves over for not doing ‘La La Land.’ Now that it’s winning all the awards, they’re freaking out and looking for someone else to blame.”
The source also disclosed that when producers finally decided to go with Stone, Gosling pounced at the chance to work with her again.
Watson, who rose to prominence for her portrayal of Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter Films”, was initially represented by the William Morris Agency (WME), but signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in December.
CAA just so happens to also represent Teller, who began his career appearing in comedy films like “Project X” and “21 & Over”, but progressed to more serious roles, including the lead of the critically acclaimed 2014 drama film “Whiplash”, which was also directed by “La La Land” creator Damien Chazelle.
Teller, for his part, took to Twitter to deny the whole thing in a short message.
