MIKE REZADA, student: “I agree with the new ruling that finished films will be the basis for choosing the entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival. Not only does this limit the choice of entries, it also simplifies the process. This is similar to cutting the red tape in a bureaucracy. The finished products will speak for themselves.”
Other notes:

Oliver Cassion, office employee: “I couldn’t be happier for Esang de Torres for bagging the role of little Cosette in the Manila staging of ‘Les Miserables.’ Things are truly coming up roses for the talented ‘The Voice Kids’ alumna.”

Tom Arca, televiewer: “One of the highlights of the ‘American Idol’ finale was the production number that included runner-up Jessica Sanchez with past finalists. Jessica’s rendition of ‘The Prayer’ got the most praises from netizens. The once awkward sixteener has become a stunner. I hope international stardom doesn’t elude Jessica, this time around.”
Margarito Morales, businessman: “The orderly and masterful handling of the vice presidential debate by moderators, Pia Hontiveros and Pinky Webb, deserves commendation. It didn’t look like a circus, unlike the presidential debates. The moderators of the final presidential debate later this month should take a cue from CNN Philippines’ effective duo.”
