Gary V. to perform for one night only in Atlantic City
WASHINGTON, DC — Gary Valenciano, 11-time winner of the much coveted Philippine entertainment industry Awit Award for “Best Male Performer,” will mark his 30th year as a world entertainer with a live concert at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m., presenting sponsor AARP announced.
The one night only concert is “extra special in that it celebrates with Gary his recent turning 50 years old, making him one of the last baby boomers of his generation” AARP explained.
Known to fans worldwide as “Mr. Pure Energy,” Gary V., as he is most affectionately referred to by friends and fans alike, has released 26 albums of songs considered by fans as most popular in their time, with some songs extending their popularity to the present day.
They include such favorite and familiar melodies as “’Di Bale Na Lang” (“Never Mind”), “Eto Na Naman” (“Here We Go Again”), “Sana Maulit Muli” (“I Wish It Could Happen Again”), “Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos?” (“Is God Sleeping”), “Gaya ng Dati” (“Just Like Before”), “Pasko Na, Sinta Ko” (“It’s Christmas, My Love”), and “Narito” (“Here”).
The Gary V. concert will have as special guests Gary’s son, Gabriel Valenciano, and AKA Jam. The musical director is Ramon Faustino and the executive producers are Johnny Rustia and Alaina Serrano.
Known for craving live Filipino entertainment, Filipinos, Filipino-Americans and their friends from throughout the East Coast of the United States are expected to flock to this limited engagement show.
Filipinos run a very close second to the Chinese in total population in the US and rank second only to South Asians (Indians) in annual household income. Such an audience is reason enough for top Filipino performers to do gigs in Atlantic City, New York and other venues throughout the Atlantic corridor throughout the year.
At this writing, aside from presenting sponsor AARP, other sponsors of the Gary V. Concert are GOLDMED and MATCHFUND.NET. AARP has also partnered for the live concert with Filipino-American community organizations such as the Philippine Independence Day Council, Inc. (PIDCI), the Filipino Association in Washington, DC, Filipino Executive Council of Philadelphia, FACAA of Greater Philadelphia, and PCSNJ of South Jersey; and with ABS-CBN Foundation for media.
