Anberlin to play farewell show in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Winter Haven, Florida is home to one of alternative rock’s beloved bands— Anberlin. This year, Anberlin is ready to make Manila its second home for the last time to play one final show on our shores this September 13, 2014 at the SM Skydome.

With a career that has spanned for more than a decade, Anberlin returns to Manila for a farewell show to relive and remember a musical journey that started in 2002. Stephen Christian, Deon Rexroat, Joseph Milligan, Christian McAlhaney, and Nathan Young stormed the charts as Anberlin’s third album Cities was released in 2007 and debuted at #19 on the Billboard 200 chart. A major label debut for Universal Records paved way for Anberlin to reach its already-growing fanbase with the release of New Surrender in 2008, as evident in the album peaking at #13 on the Billboard 200 during its first week of release.

“Feel Good Drag,” the first single from New Surrender, peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Modern Rock Tracks and became a massive Anberlin hit. 2010 saw the release of the band’s fourth full-length album called Dark is the Way, Light is a Place, an album that produced fan-favorite tracks such as “Impossible” and “We Owe This to Ourselves”. Anberlin’s fourth studio release was well-received by critics and debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200. A steady flow of albums soon followed, the last one marked by this year’s release of Lowborn—the final straw to Anberlin’s stellar career that has created thousands of adoring fans and a long list of memorable songs.
