A house divided, the Barrettos are, in a full-blown family feud of telenovela proportions.

Inquirer.Net and Radyo Inquirer followers are likewise torn. (Were this a nuclear war, the radioactive fallout could be permanently damaging.) As matriarch Inday’s allegations (in defense of Claudine) were met with equally fiery counter-allegations from son Joaquin (in defense of Gretchen), the public became unwitting, perhaps unwilling, witnesses to the unraveling tearjerker. At press time, another sister (Gia) joined the fray and sided with Claudine.

FEATURED STORIES

KIM CHIU became more attractive after losing boyfriend.

Hkzombie: “Reading Joaquin’s message… their mother seems to have forgotten that Gretchen is her child, too, [who] has sacrificed so much for [the] family.”

VeronicaB: “You’re not helping bro (Joaquin). You’ll make it worse. We’ll hear from your mom again… this time, all hell will break loose.”

Others have chosen to be as neutral as Switzerland.

Antiako asked a perfectly valid question: “Why are they doing this?”

ANGEL Locsin is in no rush to be a bride.

Another, from Elnore: “And they need to communicate in public? Kaloka kayo!”

Libra25: “Should we care at all about this crap? So many Filipino families are living in poverty.”

From us: Haven’t we always pointed out that scandals break on Wednesdays and peak on Thursdays, the better to be fodder for weekend gabfests?

Hunk for sale

Handsome Hunk has been romantically linked to a bevy of beauties in the past. He has a deep, dark secret, though: Between jobs, he turns tricks, charging a whopping P50,000 a night.

A source claims HH is worth it because, “he’s a total performer.” Lately, however, some gay clients have been questioning HH’s sexuality, noting that he seems to be enjoying his “sideline” too much. Oh, no.

Honor for sale

Acclaimed Artist got a rude awakening about the ugly side of the biz.

Awards Organizer called to inform AA about a possible citation. That was very good, but AA was stunned when AO asked for an “application fee.” AA gasped: “I have to pay for a chance to win?”

Another Awards Group invited AA to the deliberation/selection session but was asked to pay for the chow.

AA didn’t part with cash for either group and was snubbed in both derbies.

Change of pace

SHAINA Magdayao has nothing to hide from Piolo.

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera.

Playboy Insider was involved with this and that female celebrity in the recent past, although he’s always been suspected of being sexually ambiguous.

On the basis of the guy’s taste in clothes, a spy warned Kooky Celeb against falling for PI’s charms. The mole’s worst fears were on target.

PI hooked up with Closeted Performer recently. CP likewise tried to court other girls but no one ever believed these “straight” affairs. CP found solace in PI’s arms.

Fatal obsession

From Radyo Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.).

Hunky Mestizo is fed up with his girlfriend, Pretty Starlet. Curiously, HM and PS have yet to admit their relationship.

HM thinks PS is too possessive and has  the makings of a stalker. She follows HM around like a lovesick puppy.

Worse, HM finds PS’ public displays of affection embarrassing and exhilarating. Fatal attraction?

Top of the Bandera

The top show biz news in the Inquirer tabloid Bandera (and why we are moved if we are moved.)

Regine dinudugo kapag nakikipag-away kay Ogie. (Yikes, TMI!)

(Now showing: “Problem Parents.”)

Kim Chiu abot-langit

pa rin ang pagmamahal

kay Gerald, diring-diri naman kay Maja. (May tawag diyan.)

(Yes, this is a phenomenon, we agree.)

(But why not?)

Angel Locsin: “Walang magaganap na kasalan!” (At  walang himala!)

(What, among other things?)

(Ilusyon talaga ’yan for many Filipinos.)

(No comment.)
