Revisiting Danny L. Zialcita

Director Andoy Ranay, who is currently doing a film based on the drama masterpiece “Nagalit ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi,” shares some thoughts on the late director Danny L. Zialcita. “It’s sad because I never got to talk to him about how he made the film in 1983, but I got hold of a copy of it and was able to view it. Viva Films and I updated the script for the latest version, which will feature Alice Dixson, Gabby Concepcion, Dina Bonnevie, Cristine Reyes, Andi Eigenmann and Jake Cuenca. I’m very excited. I grew up watching Danny Zialcita’s masterpieces. I admire the way he used the Filipino language, most especially how he wrote all his unforgettable lines—talagang tumatak, talagang tagos, talagang naramdaman.
