Street Smart: Remy Boquiren’s passion

BOQUIREN, with one of her paintings.

Remy Boquiren, a Fine Arts graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, is influenced by Anita Magsaysay Ho’s paintings. The women she depicts have a calming effect on spectators and art patrons. The most common object you’ll find in her paintings is the sampaguita.

Her first exhibit was such a hit that former First Lady Imelda Marcos ended up buying most of her paintings! The success of “They Who Wear Rainbows,” her second show, was just as successful, with the entire collection selling out even before the exhibit opened!
