Sharon Cuneta slams 18 bagmen’s claims vs her, husband Kiko Pangilinan
An enraged Sharon Cuneta belied claims linking her senator husband Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan to resigned Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co, including allegations that they, too, received “maletas” (suitcases) containing piles of flood control money.
The allegations came from the 18 self-confessed former bodyguards, drivers, and employees of Co, who said that they delivered “maletas” containing kickbacks from flood control funds obtained by their boss, who is now in hiding in Europe following his release from custody at the Prague in the Czech Republic.
During a press conference on Tuesday, June 16, Co’s bagmen showed photos of the couple with the former politician’s supposed employees from Misibis Aviation and Development Corporation, owned by the now fugitive congressman. While the bagmen did not outrightly name Pangilinan as one of the alleged recipients of the moneys, photos were shown of the couple and other politicians.
“MGA SINUNGAAAALING! SOBRA TALAGA KAYO!” the Megastar exclaimed via her social media pages. (Liars! You have really gone too far!)
Addressing the photo shown during the press conference, she continued, “I vlogged about this visit my family and I made to Marawi to thank the Governor, Mayor, and other officials and their families for their support for Kiko.” The supposed vlog was uploadedon her YouTube channel on July 20, 2025.
“Talaga ba, magbibigay kayo ng maleta sa amin SA MARAWI PA?!” she pointed out. “Ang kakapal ng mukha ninyo talaga, sukdulan!”
(Really? You’re going to give us suitcases in Marawi of all places?! The nerve of you people is unbelievable!)
Cuneta further stressed that she was working at the time she made her statement on the matter, underscoring how she and her family work hard for what they have.
“Eto nagtetaping pa ako ngayon-nagbabanat pa rin ng buto at lumalaban ng patas, dahil lahat ng meron kami, PINAGHIHIRAPAN NAMIN! Hindi kami tulad ninyong mga sinungaling!” she stated.
(Here I am, still in taping right now—working hard to earn an honest living, because everything we have is from our hard work. We’re not like you liars!)
She also asserted that God knows everyting and that she is entrusting the matter to Him.

Pangilinan, for his part, warned legal action against the ex-bagmen for their claims. The senator also noted that their allegations have no basis, and that they only dragged him into the issue “to stain [his] reported appointment as chairperson of the Senate Blue Ribbon Subcommittee that will investigate the flood-control scam.”
‘Lies’
Also among the personalities who were identified by the supposed ex-bagmen to have allegedly received money from Co was GMA Network broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio. He likewise denied the accusations and declared that he will see them in court.
“Lies. Nakakatawa. Nakakalungkot. Pero lahat ng ito haharapin ko nang walang takot. Talk is cheap. Bago ang dada, ebidensya muna” he said.
“Hindi ako natatakot. Wala akong itinatago,” he stressed. “Magkita na lang kami sa korte at doon ulitin niya lahat ng kanyang walang kakwenta-kwentang bintang.”
(Lies. It’s funny and also saddening. But I will face all of this without fear. Talk is cheap. Before making accusations, bring evidence first. I’m not afraid because I have nothing to hide. We’ll see each other in court, and that’s where he can repeat all of his baseless allegations.)
GMA Network also released a statement on the matter, vowing to further evaluate the matter.
“The Network takes matters involving the integrity of our journalists seriously,” it said.
“GMA Network remains committed to responsible journalism. We ask the public to refrain from drawing conclusions based on unverified information,” it stated./edv
