Samantha Bernardo welcomes baby boy by water birth: ‘Magical’
Beauty queen Samantha Bernardo welcomed her first baby through home water birth, a natural delivery process that she had prepared for months in advance.
The first-time mom took to Instagram as she shared a glimpse of their baby boy, as well as raw snippets of the hardships she endured while in labor. The couple named their son Sebastian — Seb, for short.
“In the quiet of our home, surrounded by love, support, and peace, our son made his way into the world. Just before 2 AM, as we welcomed a brand new month, we finally met Seb. After our quiet moment as a family, I looked at my birth team and said, ‘Wow. I can’t believe it. Birthing is a blessing, and I was built to birth,’” Bernardo said.

“And in that moment, I felt it. Magical. That is the only word that truly describes my experience as a first-time mom. This experience showed me what the female body is capable of when it is supported, respected, and trusted,” she further said.
Delivery via water birth is a specialized birth process in which the mother is unmedicated, or does not have any anesthesia while giving birth, aided only with a tub of warm water and doulas, or a professionally trained birth companion.
In her post, Bernardo said she gave birth May 31, which coincided with the birthday of her non-showbiz husband, Scott Moore.
“We spent the day simply. We walked [the dog], cooked and ate steak and eggs and even practiced parking in my car. Nothing extraordinary… yet. That evening, I kept feeling like I needed to go to the bathroom. Again and again. By then, I looked at Scott and said, ‘I think it’s time!’” she said.

“Everything happened so quickly. There came a point where I stopped trying to control anything. All I could do was surrender, trust my body, and repeat in my mind: Let go and let God,” she said.
Bernardo, the 2020 Miss Grand International first runner-up, married Moore in April 2024, in Cebu. In November last year, she announced her pregnancy, and that she has planned for a natural birth as a method of delivery.
