Taylor Swift performs ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ at ‘Toy Story 5’ premiere
Taylor Swift surprised fans at the world premiere of “Toy Story 5” with a live musical set as she performed her rendition of the franchise’s iconic theme, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and her original song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” written for the new film.
Pixar gave a glimpse into Swift’s live performances at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles through two separate videos posted on their Instagram page on Wednesday, June 10.
The pop star appeared on stage with original composer Randy Newman for a duet version of the classic “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” the signature song of the Toy Story franchise.
Swift also performed for the first time her new original track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” specifically written for the fifth film’s soundtrack. It is a collaboration with singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff.

The world premiere drew key members of “Toy Story 5, ” with longtime voice actors Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack as well. They were joined by newcomers Greta Lee as Lilypad and Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants.
During the red carpet, Swift was captured fangirling as she held a VHS copy of the original Toy Story, signed by members of the cast.
“Toy Story 5” is the fifth main installment in Pixar’s long-running animated franchise, directed by Andrew Stanton.
The film continues the story of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Bonnie’s other toys. It also introduces new characters, including a tablet-like toy named Lilypad, to showcase how children increasingly turn to digital devices over traditional playthings.
“Toy Story 5” arrives in Philippine cinemas on June 17. /ra
