Mister Eco International delegates explore Baguio ahead of June 11 finals
The delegates of the first-ever Mister Eco International pageant were busy in Baguio City with a series of activities leading to the final competition.
They got close to nature as they experienced the Eco Trail at the Forest Bathing Trail at Camp John Hay, a challenging trek amid towering pine trees that strengthened their bond as “brothers” in the competition.
The Mister Eco International competition is mounted by the same Egypt-based organization behind the Miss Eco International and Miss Eco Teen International pageants, and also promotes sustainability and the protection of the environment.
When they arrived in Manila, the delegates attended a “Biodiversity Conservation Seminar” with Haribon Foundation, and took part in a cleanup drive in Manila Bay.
In Baguio, the delegates also went to the Botanical Garden and the Harvest Hub, and went horseback riding at Wright Park, staple attractions for visitors to the “Summer Capital of the Philippines.”
Meanwhile, a stage inspired by the beauty of the Banaue Rice Terraces will welcome spectators at the final competition at the Cordillera International Convention Center at the Baguio Country Club.
The competition will be held on Thursday, June 11, at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Those outside Baguio may catch the show at the Empire PH YouTube channel.
Event host and pageant veteran Kitt Cortez is representing the Philippines in the inaugural staging of the Mister Eco International competition. He won his national title in April last year. /ra
