MGI All Stars winner Vanessa Pulgarin, Nawat Itsaragrisil in PH for Reina Filipinas
MGI All Stars first edition winner Vanessa Pulgarin of Colombia is in Manila with Miss Grand International president Nawat Itsaragrisil to attend the grand media conference of Reina Filipinas.
The two arrived from Thailand on June 9, and were welcomed by Jojo Bragais, CEO of Jojo Bragais Shoes. Pulgarin had just won her crown at the conclusion of the MGI All Stars competition in Bangkok on May 30.
Reina Filipinas, a new national pageant organization in the Philippines that seeks a space in the already saturated pageant industry in the country, will hold a grand media conference on June 10.
Joining Nawat, Pulgarin, and Bragais at the event are MGI All Stars Top 5 finalist Gazini Ganados, 2024 Miss Grand International Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza, and reigning Miss Grand International Emma Tiglao.
“A grand era is about to begin!” Reina Filipinas posted on social media. Pageant fans are already expecting the launch of the next search for the country’s Miss Grand International representative under the new organization.
The Philippines has been enjoying a second wind in the Bangkok-based international competition, with a back-to-back courtesy of Opiaza and Tiglao, after completely missing the first cut in 2023.
And at the first staging of MGI All Stars, a groundbreaking competition among international pageant veterans organized by the Nawat’s Miss Grand International Organization, five participants were from the Philippines.
Aside from Ganados, Pulgarin also competed with 2022 Miss International Queen winner Fuschia Anne Ravena who finished in the Top 18, and 2016 Miss Philippines Earth Imelda Schweighart, reigning Noble Queen of the Universe Alexia Nuñez, and 2025 Universal Woman Arabia Keylyn Trajano.
The Reina Filipinas grand media conference will be streamed online on the Bragais TV YouTube channel, available for viewing around the world. /edv
