‘Linda Walker’ actress extends sympathies to Mindanao earthquake victims
Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei, known for portraying Linda Walker in the viral micro-drama “The Heiress Who Won with Brains,” has expressed her deepest sympathies to the victims of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on Monday morning, June 8.
During a press conference on Tuesday, June 9, at a hotel in Quezon City, Zhang took the time to share that she saw the devastating news about the earthquake in Mindanao as she also extended words of comfort to the victims.
“I heard about the devastating news of the earthquake in Mindanao. I wanted to express my deepest condolences to the people affected by it. But I also want to send the message that these disasters really happen. As humans, we should continue to stay strong. These are all natural disasters. We should always believe that there is still a better tomorrow,” she said through an interpreter.

Zhang is currently in the Philippines to promote education initiatives and charity projects amid the reopening of classes nationwide.
When asked about her experience in the country so far, the Chinese star regarded it as “one of the greatest highlights of her life.”
“I’m very happy. You can say that this visit to the Philippines is one of the greatest highlights of my life,” she said.
The 21-year-old actress also expressed her enthusiasm to star in Filipino projects if she would be given the chance.
“Of course, enthusiastically. It would be my honor if I could have an opportunity here,” she expressed.
Given her viral portrayal of Linda Walker, which most people mistake for A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) made, Zhang clarified her realness.
“I’m not an AI. I’m a Chinese actress, Zhang Yingfei. There are a lot of short films that I have acted in in China. You can go and watch them. Then you will know that I’m not an AI,” she happily explained.
Zhang arrived in Manila last Sunday. Since then, she paid a courtesy visit to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno at Manila City Hall, did an outreach program at Quezon City High School, and appeared on TV guestings such as “Unang Hirit” and “It’s Showtime.”
The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) said that Zhang’s Manila visit aims to encourage Filipino students to value education, discipline, and perseverance.
The visit is also to strengthen educational and cultural exchanges between Filipino and Chinese communities. /edv
