Melai Cantiveros, Sandara Park, Anne Curtis pray for earthquake hit Mindanao
Melai Cantiveros, Sandara Park, and Anne Curtis expressed concern and offered prayers for victims affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on Monday morning, June 8.
Cantiveros took to Instagram to share photos showing the aftermath of the quake, including damaged buildings and affected areas in her hometown, General Santos City.
“In Jesus Name tanggalin niyo na Lord ang mga aftershocks and sana Lord makabangon ang Mindanao labi na ang Gensan Lord sa paglindol na ito,” she wrote.
Cantiveros also thanked those who checked on her family and said they were safe. She likewise appealed for help, saying hospitals in the area need more tents for displaced residents and patients.

Meanwhile, South Korean star Sandara Park took to X to share her message for quake victims.
“My heart is with everyone affected by the earthquake in Mindanao. Mindanao holds a special place in my heart, and I still remember the love and warmth I received there. I’m praying for everyone’s safety, strength, and recovery,” she posted.
Anne Curtis also posted a short message on X, saying, “Praying for all those affected by the earthquake.”

The earthquake struck off Sarangani province at 7:37 a.m on Monday. Authorities said at least 35 people were killed, 12 remain missing, and more than 200 were injured as buildings collapsed and landslides hit several areas in Mindanao.
The strongest reported shaking was in General Santos City. Tsunami warnings were raised in the Philippines and neighboring countries but were later lifted after waves measuring up to 1.4 meters were recorded in some coastal areas.
Classes in affected areas were suspended, while General Santos Airport temporarily halted operations, leading to the cancellation of 17 domestic flights. Several aftershocks, including one measuring magnitude 6.7, were also recorded. /edv
