Ryan Bang confirms breakup with Paola Huyong, denies cheating

After being hounded by separation rumors since last year, Ryan Bang has officially confirmed that he and non-showbiz ex-fiancée Paola Huyong have broken up, as he denied that cheating was the reason for the split. 

Bang made the confirmation during a guest appearance on Vice Ganda’s YouTube vlog uploaded on Saturday, June 6, admitting that he has been single since January.

“Tinary ko na ayusin. Kasi alam ko, n’ung panahon na ‘yun, hindi ko maintindihan. Hindi dapat umabot ng ganito (I tried to fix it. Because I know, at that time, I didn’t understand. It shouldn’t have gotten to this point). I was trying, I was hoping, I was praying na maayos (it gets fixed),” he said.

The “It’s Showtime” host admitted that he also had his share of faults about why the relationship fell apart, but cheating was never one of them. 

“Siyempre, sa relationship, meron din akong kasalanan. Pero, I never cheat. Hindi totoo ‘yun. Kahit hindi ngayon, even before, I never cheat. Hindi ako gano’n. Serious din ako sa relationship. But, siyempre, meron din akong kakulangan,” he explained. 

(Of course, in relationships, I also have my faults. But, I never cheat. That’s not true. Not even now, even before, I never cheat. I’m not like that. I’m also serious in relationships. But, of course, I also have my shortcomings.) 

Bang explained that their differences in culture might have contributed to why the relationship did not work out. 

“Siyempre, grateful pa rin ako kasi sobrang bait n’ung pamilya. Hanggang ngayon, lalo na ‘yung magulang niya. I was trying to fix it. And, gusto ng pamilya ko din i-fix. But, we found out na magkaiba pala kami ng kultura. Magkaiba pala ang thinking. Lalo na pagdating sa marriage,” he expressed. 

(Of course, I’m still grateful because the family is so kind. Until now, especially her parents. I was trying to fix it. And, my family also wants to fix it. But, we found out that we have different cultures. We think differently. Especially when it comes to marriage.)

The Korean national shared that he insisted on fixing the relationship until Huyong’s parents and his parents told him to stop making efforts already. 

“In my whole life, ‘yun yung pinaka dark and hard na time in my life. And ‘yung experience ko na ‘yun, it was pinaka mabigat sa puso. Ang hirap din sa akin kasi ano-ano iniisip ng ibang tao eh,” he said. 

(In my whole life, that was the darkest and hardest time in my life. And that experience of mine, it was the hardest on my heart. It was also hard for me because of what other people think.) 

Bang and Huyong, who began dating in 2023, announced their engagement in June 2024. 

Speculations that their engagement was called off arose in October 2025 after netizens noticed that they had unfollowed each other on Instagram. /edv
