WATCH: James Reid mentions Kathryn Bernardo in front of Daniel Padilla

James Reid drew laughs from fans after he casually mentioned Kathryn Bernardo in front of Daniel Padilla during an event attended by both of them. 

Padilla was formally introduced as the newest ambassador of a gaming platform, joining Reid as one of the brand’s endorsers. Loud cheers from their respective supporters filled the venue during the launch, based on videos that later circulated on social media.

During the event, host DJ Jhaiho asked Reid about his current projects. The actor then shared that he is busy filming the upcoming television series “Someone Someday” alongside Bernardo and Maja Salvador. 

“Malapit na malapit na actually, we’re shooting ‘Someone Someday,’ of course with Kathryn Bernardo and Maja Salvador,” Reid said.

While Reid was talking, Padilla appeared distracted while acknowledging fans around the venue. Reid, who was trying to hold back his laugh, then tapped Padilla twice to gain his attention as he mentioned Bernardo’s name. Padilla simply smiled and laughed during the exchange. Clips of the moment quickly gained traction online. 

“Someone Someday” marks the first on-screen collaboration of Reid and Bernardo. 

Padilla was in a 12-year relationship with Bernardo before they confirmed their separation in November 2023. The actor is now dating actress Kaila Estrada. 

Bernardo, on the other hand, is rumored to be dating Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala. They have yet to directly confirm the dating rumors, but they have been spotted hanging out in public since last year. 

Meanwhile, Reid, who recently celebrated his 33rd birthday, received birthday love on social media from his current girlfriend, actress-singer Issa Pressman. /edv
