Katy Perry jokingly reacts to ‘the one that got away,’ Josh Groban’s engagement

Katy Perry amusingly reacted to the engagement of her ex-boyfriend Josh Groban by posting a dramatic TikTok video referencing her hit song “The One that Got Away.”
In a clip shared on TikTok on Monday, May 11, Perry was captured wearing a bathrobe while mock-crying and raising a drink as a screenshot of a report about Groban’s engagement to British actress Natalie McQueen flashed on-screen.

Perry and Groban briefly dated in 2009 but kept their relationship largely private at the time. Years later, Perry revealed during a 2017 livestream that Groban was the inspiration behind her song “The One that Got Away.”
Groban later addressed the claim during a 2018 interview with Andy Cohen, saying he was surprised by Perry’s revelation but appreciated the compliment.
At the time, the “You Raise Me Up” singer also said that he had doubts that Perry’s song “The One that Got Away” was about him.
“I listened to the lyrics of the song, and I’m like, ‘I never owned a Mustang. I don’t have a tattoo. Are you sure that’s about me?'” he teased.
Groban, who announced his engagement to McQueen last April, clarified that he and Perry realized they were “better as friends.”
Groban and McQueen made their relationship Instagram official on Valentine’s Day in 2023. The singer proposed to the actress at Disneyland.
Perry, meanwhile, was previously married to Russell Brand. She was also in a long-term romance with Orlando Bloom before their separation last year.
The “Thinking of You” singer is now dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. /ra
