Nawat Itsaragrisil sets ultimatum for Venezuela’s Sthefany Gutierrez

As talks of Sthefany Gutiérrez’s withdrawal as the lone Venezuelan candidate in the first edition of MGI All-Stars made the rounds online, the pageant’s main proponent Nawat Itsaragrisil sets an ultimatum for the 2018 Miss Universe runner-up.
In a report posted by Missosology, the biggest online international pageant portal, the Miss Grand International president is giving the 27-year-old model and content creator until today, May 2, to confirm if she is no longer pursuing the competition.
Nawat said that he still has not received any official notification pertaining to Gutiérrez’s withdrawal from the groundbreaking international competition that gathers global pageant veterans on one stage.
Earlier this week, it was also Missosology that reported that Gutiérrez had withdrawn from the competition due to emotional and mental distress following the hacking of her Instagram account that already had millions of followers.
Miss Venezuela national directors Esteban Velásquez and Jacqueline Aguilera are still trying to convince Gutiérrez to reconsider, the report mentioned, but they have been unsuccessful.
In Nawat’s briefing, he mentioned that the Miss Grand International Organization had lost contact with Gutiérrez, who has not been responding for two weeks already.
Gutiérrez became an instant frontrunner after her MGI All-Stars participation was confirmed. She was second runner-up in the 2018 Miss Universe pageant won by the Philippines’ Catriona Gray.
Gray’s Binibining Pilipinas successor Gazini Ganados is also in the competition as one of the five candidates from the Philippines. MGI All-Stars accepts multiple entries per country.
One of the conditions that Gutiérrez supposedly laid down when she signified her intention to join MGI All Stars was that no other candidate from Venezuela should be accepted. If she pushes through with her withdrawal, the pageant powerhouse will be left with no representation.
The candidates are expected to arrive in Bangkok on May 16 to 17, with the “Grand Finals” set to take place at MGI Hall on May 30. The eventual winner stands to take home $100,000, with the chance to win up to $1 million if she successfully defends her crown in three straight seasons. /edv
