The performance sparked varied feedback from netizens, with some describing the rendition as “airy,” saying that the singer sounded like she was “gasping for air” and noted her pronunciation, saying it carried too much emphasis on the letter “h.”

Addressing the comments, Avanzado later shared the full version of her cover and joked about the criticisms. “Ito na, nakapag-nebulizer na po. Dahil diyan, ito na yung full cover,” she wrote, playfully referencing remarks about her vocal delivery.

Originally recorded by Perry, “Thinking of You” is a ballad from her 2008 debut album “One of the Boys.” The song, known for its emotional lyrics about longing and lost love, has remained a fan favorite over the years.
Perry recently made headlines after she was reported to be under investigation in Australia over allegations of sexual assault made by Australian actress Ruby Rose.
Jayda, the daughter of OPM veterans Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, rose to fame after she performed the opening act for Niall Horan’s “Flicker World Tour” in Manila in 2018.
The young singer-actress currently stars as Lorelei Rios in the television adaptation of the Wattpad hit “Project Loki” opposite Dylan Menor and Marco Gallo. /edv
