Ivana Alawi gives perfect score to Joshua Garcia’s onscreen kiss: 10 out of 10

Ivana Alawi drew laughs from the audience when she swiftly gave Joshua Garcia’s kiss a perfect score — even before the host could finish his question.
One of the highlights of Garcia and Alawi’s sizzling chemistry in the action-romance drama “Love Is Never Gone” was their willingness to take on intimate scenes early on, which ultimately sparked a buzz from the audience at an advanced screening.
Speaking about their intimate scenes in a media con, Alawi was asked by host and entertainment journalist MJ Felipe to rate Garcia’s onscreen kiss.
“10,” she said immediately. “Kasi nakita niyo, diba? Siya ‘yung talagang grabe. Naka-ganun lang ako, siya ang laki ng bibig niya… Sabi ko, ‘Huy, grabe ka naman sumipsip! Yung lipstick ko nawawala!’ Okay naman, magaling, magaling siya.”
(10. You saw it, right? He’s intense. I was just there, but his mouth was so wide. I told him, “Hey, you kissed me so intensely! My lipstick is erased right away. But it’s alright. He’s great, great.)
For his part, Garcia said Alawi’s kiss is a nine because there is “room for improvement.”

Alawi had long been open to working with Garcia on a project and had expressed her willingness to take on intimate scenes with him.
During her contract signing with Star Magic in 2023, she said she was thrilled about the possibility of engaging in torrid kissing scenes with him, though she reiterated that she would be professional.
“Parang [dapat] mas kakabahan siya (I think he’s the one who should be more nervous),” she quipped right after.
“Love Is Never Gone,” scheduled for streaming on Prime Video on May 8, marks the first time Garcia and Alawi will work together in a series. It tells the story of Teo (Garcia) and Yana (Alawi), who fall into a passionate romance in Morocco, but their personal histories drive them apart. They meet later in the Philippines, where it is revealed that Yana is the wife of a powerful figure.
The drama also stars Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Fyang Smith, JM Ibarra, Dina Bonnevie, Epy Quizon, Michael de Mesa and Ara Mina. /ra
