WATCH: BINI Jhoanna shows weather forecasting chops at ‘Good Day LA’

BINI’s leader Jhoanna ticked another item off her bucket list as she had a chance to be a weather forecaster in a recent episode of the California-based show, “Good Day LA,” where the P-pop powerhouse made a guest appearance.
Jhoanna joined the newscast’s resident weather reporter, Maria Quiban, with the latter giving her instructions on how to report on the current conditions in California.
The BINI member admitted it was hot in Indio during their Coachella stint, though the windy weather helped cool things down a bit.
“It was hot, but it was really windy. We didn’t really feel the [heat]. But we [brought] hotness to the stage,” she quipped.
This is not the first time Jhoanna has taken on the newscast mantle; she previously competed in the broadcasting categories of the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) and the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).
BINI’s leader also served as a guest Star Patroller on TV Patrol’s showbiz news twice. She was also a “Showbiz Ganap” broadcaster on the radio show “Sakto Teleradyo” and read the news for the Express edition of the newscast.

BINI, sans main vocalist Maloi, also talked about their Coachella debut in the California-based newscast, where they spoke about being one of the most-viewed acts in this year’s music festival.
“It was such a surreal experience. We’re just so grateful to be able to showcase our talent on that stage. It has always been our dream to perform at Coachella. We were so nervous, but the crowd’s energy gave us confidence,” Stacey said.
Mikha also expressed her gratitude to casual viewers who enjoyed seeing them for the first time, highlighting the importance of representation on the global stage.
“I think a lot of them were like, ‘Oh, why haven’t we discovered BINI sooner?’ And that is such a compliment for us because it’s what we’ve always wanted. Representing the Filipinos was such a memorable moment for us. Representation to us is very important,” she said.
BINI — composed of Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena — is one of the recipients of Billboard’s Global Force award at its Women in Music awards ceremony on April 29.
They are set to embark on their “Signals” world tour, which kicks off at the Mall of Asia Arena in June. Other stops include Cebu, the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, France, the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, and Taiwan. /edv
