MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, Philippines – Catching an early morning flight from Manila to Misamis Occidental was well worth it for the delegates of the 2026 Miss Universe Philippines pageant, as they got to marvel at the hidden gems that the Northern Mindanao province offers.

The 50 delegates saw firsthand the majestic natural and man-made attractions that Misamisnons have been enjoying all their lives—sites that remain largely under the radar of many local and international tourists.

First on their itinerary was the sprawling Asenso Misamis Occidental Recreation and Adventure Park in the town of Sinacaban. The destination features a lush mangrove forest and over-the-water villas inspired by the Maldives.
