Liza, Charo, Dingdong, Manny among cast of animated series ‘Sun Chaser’

Liza Soberano, Charo Santos, Dingdong Dantes and Manny Jacinto will lend their voices to the upcoming animated series “Sun Chaser,” which is set to launch its first episode at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June.
“Sun Chaser” was confirmed by Variety on Monday, April 20, noting that the animated series is helmed by an all-Filipino team led by Bobby Pontillas and Bernard Badion. The film is also created by the Philippines’ Toon City and PlayLab studios, with the Soberano-co-owned Funny Face Films as one of its co-producers.
Joining Soberano, Santos, Dantes and Jacinto are Eugene Cordero, JR De Guzman, Zia Dantes, AC Bonifacio and KD Estrada.
The animated series revolves around Jordan Santos (Jacinto), whose summer vacation in his grandmother’s island was interrupted by an “ancient icy villain” after a series of attacks. As a result, Jordan and his cousins find themselves in a magical ocean wonderland where they set sail on a “legendary vessel known as the Sun Chaser,” per reports.
The animation-centered film festival is scheduled to take place from June 21 to 27 in Annecy, France.
This marks the second time Soberano and Jacinto have worked together, following the DreamWorks animated film “Forgotten Island,” which also features elements culturally significant to the Philippines.
