Miss Universe Philippines 2026 drops Top 31 swimsuit prelims video
Pageant fans’ long wait is finally over. After getting delayed for a week, the 2026 Miss Universe Philippines preliminary swimsuit competition videos are now available.
But only the preliminary swimsuit performances of the “Top 31” were released on the Empire PH YouTube channel on Sunday evening, April 19.
They were announced at the conclusion of the Charity Gala Night on Saturday evening, April 18.
The preliminary swimsuit competition video dropped for the third week of the “U Vote” online poll on the Maya app, that will help determine who will get guaranteed semifinal placements.
The third and final round of voting for the preliminary competition will run from April 19 to 25.
At the presentation of this year’s delegates in February, Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH) Executive Vice President Voltaire Tayag explained the revamped competition format, wherein the voting for swimsuit was scheduled on April 12 to 18, the second round.
But on April 11, before the results of the first round of voting for evening gown were released, MUPH announced a revision to the schedule, moving the interview segment ahead of the swimsuit event.
There were reports that the delegates were called back to film another preliminary swimsuit competition on the said date.
They had earlier filmed the segment on March 29, along with the gown and interview segments.
A group of candidates get eliminated after every round of voting. The first round had 10 cuts, while the second had nine.
A brutal cut to just the Top 10 remaining delegates will take place at the end of the third round.
Those who qualified to move on to the second and third rounds of voting were an equal mix of those who amassed the most votes and those who earned the highest scores from the selection committee.
But the 10 that will be announced at the end of the third round of voting will purely be based on votes.
The 10 other selection committee choices will be revealed at the coronation show on May 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The 10 poll leaders and 10 highest scorers will be joined by the five brand award winners and five wildcard picks, to complete the roster of 30 semifinalists, giving chance to those who have been eliminated earlier to still take a shot at the crown.
