Sharon Cuneta, Barbie Forteza join forces in ‘Honor Thy Mother’

ABS-CBN and GMA will once again join forces in the upcoming series “Honor Thy Mother,” which stars Sharon Cuneta, Barbie Forteza, John Estrada, and Khalil Ramos. 

Cuneta, Forteza, Estrada, and Ramos were announced as the leads of the drama, which is said to be a collaboration between the media giants and Prime Video Philippines, during the streaming giant’s trade launch on Tuesday, April 14.

Behind the scenes, the Megastar shared that she always sees Forteza at social gatherings and has no doubts about sharing the spotlight with the Kapuso star.

“Ang daming artists ng GMA pero ang parati ko siyang nakikita sa social gatherings. We would [enjoy] talking to each other kaya noong nalaman kong siya, yes (GMA has a lot of artists, but I always see her in social gatherings. We would enjoy talking to each other, that’s why when I found out that I would be working with her, it’s a yes),” she said.

Cuneta is also excited about the Kapamilya and Kapuso networks collaborating on one big project.

“[With the collaboration] of ABS-CBN and GMA, it’s like two big families coming together,” she said.

This is the second time ABS-CBN and GMA have worked together in a drama, following “Unbreak My Heart” in 2023, which starred Jodi Sta. Maria, Gabbi Garcia, Joshua Garcia, and Richard Yap. The media giants also collaborated on the two recent seasons of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab.”

Prime Video has yet to announce the director, writer, storyline, and premiere date, as of this writing. /edv
