Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan reunite 16 years after ‘The Karate Kid’

Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan have reunited 16 years after starring together in the 2010 remake of “The Karate Kid.”
The reunion was seen via a recent Instagram post by Smith, where he is shown greeting Chan on his 72nd birthday.
“I love you, you changed my life and taught me things I will never forget. I could never be who I am today without you. You’re a legend, an icon, and a leader. Happy birthday,” expressed Smith.
In the comments section, fans expressed how happy they were to see the stars together again. “Never thought I’d see them together again,” said one social media user.
Smith and Chan starred as Dre Parker and Mr. Han, respectively, in “The Karate Kid” (2010), a remake of the 1984 original film.
Set in Beijing, the film followed Dre, a young American boy who learns kung fu under the guidance of Mr. Han after facing bullying in a new environment. The movie became a commercial success with over $350 million in global box-office earnings.

Jaden first gained recognition in 2006 after he starred alongside his father, Will Smith, in “The Pursuit of Happyness.” After “The Karate Kid,” he appeared in “After Earth” (2013) before shifting focus to music and entrepreneurship.
Chan, meanwhile, rose to fame in Hong Kong cinema with films like “Drunken Master” (1978). He achieved international success through the “Rush Hour” film series.
Chan recently reprised his role as Mr. Han in the 2025 “Karate Kid: Legends.” The veteran star teamed up with original Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), to train another kung fu prodigy, Li Fong (Ben Wang). /ra
