Joj Agpangan opens up on ‘mental battle, losing old self’ amid pregnancy

First-time mom Joj Agpangan got candid about the changes she has been navigating during her first trimester, admitting she has been struggling with the feeling that she is “losing [her] old self.”
The actress, who is currently based in the United States, spoke about this while showing herself wrapped in a blanket, lying on the sofa through her Instagram page on Wednesday, April 8.
“Pregnancy fatigue is real,” she said. “If you know me, you know I’m always the one on the move. I love the hustle, staying active, and ticking things off my to-do list. But this first trimester taught me a different kind of strength: the strength to slow down.”
“I went from ‘active girly’ to professional napper, and at first, the mental battle was real. I felt like I was ‘losing’ my old self,” she continued.
But amid the struggles came a realization for Agpangan.
“My body isn’t being ‘lazy,’ it’s being miraculous,” she underscored.
The “Pinoy Big Brother” alum then noted how her perception shifted as she acknowledged herself for nurturing a life.
Addressing fellow expectant mothers who feel exhausted and left behind, she reminded, “You aren’t doing nothing. You are building a soul.”
“Give yourself the grace to just be. Your body knows exactly what it’s doing. Trust the process,” she concluded.
