Mister World Philippines 2026 sets June 21 finals as call for applicants continues
While its call for applicants is still ongoing, the 2026 Mister World Philippines competition already has a date and venue for its final competition.
In a social media post on Friday evening, March 27, the national male tilt announced that the “coronation night” for its 2026 competition will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on June 21.
The last time that a Mister World Philippines competition was held was in 2018. The male tilt is organized by ALV Pageant Circle, which also mounts the Miss World Philippines and Miss Grand International Philippines pageants.
In the 2018 national competition, Olongapo representative JB Saliva took home the title and went on to compete in the 10th Mister World contest held in Manila in 2019. He finished in the Top 12 and got the Mister World Asia Pacific title.
Usually held every two years, the Mister World contest had a hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A competition was originally slated in 2022, prompting the appointment of Kirk Bondad.
But the 2022 staging of the 11th edition of the Mister World contest did not push through, and the contest was held two years later in 2024, in Vietnam. Bondad finished in the Top 20.
He moved on to the rival Mister Pilipinas Worldwide contest in 2025, and earned his ticket to the 17th Mister International competition where he successfully posted the Philippines’ second victory.
His image still appears in several promotional materials of the 2026 Mister World Philippines contest because he was the last person to hold the national title.
“A new Filipino king is set to rise. Join us for one of the most anticipated nights of the year as the Mr. World Philippines 2026 Coronation Night unfolds in a grand celebration of purpose, intelligence, confidence, and heart,” the national male tilt posted.
“More than a competition, this is a journey fueled by passion, purpose, and national pride. One man will earn the honor of carrying the Philippine flag on the world stage, embodying the true essence of an exceptionally empowered Filipino King,” the post continued.
Applications from interested individuals will be accepted until April 6. For qualifications, requirements, and other information, visit the Mr. World Philippines Organization’s official social media pages.
The final screening is scheduled on April 11, and no walk-in applicants will be entertained. “Take the first step toward representing the Philippines on the global stage and prove that true excellence goes beyond the crown,” the organizers said. /ra
