Iñigo Jose says estrangement with dad James Blanco is a ‘private matter’

Iñigo Jose is firm about keeping family matters private, after his dad, actor James Blanco, revealed in a recent interview that they are not on speaking terms.
Earlier this month, Blanco opened up about being estranged from Iñigo and his two other children, Natalia and Sebastian, in an interview with Ogie Diaz, saying he tried to reach out to them several times before eventually unfollowing them on social media.
Days later, Jose was asked to comment on his relationship with Blanco in a Star Magic: Spotlight media con, to which he stressed that he would rather keep matters involving his family private.
“Ang masasabi ko lang sa dad ko, sa mga manonood, at sa mga nagco-comment diyan, I want to keep it a private matter. Siyempre, gusto ko pong kami na muna mag-usap and then afterwards pwede na pong pag-usapan sa publiko,” he said.

The “Pinoy Big Brother” alum explained that he wants to keep conversations about his family private out of respect for both parties.
“Gusto ko pong maayos muna privately ‘yung family matters namin to give respect to my mom as well and my family,” he said. “Siyempre, hindi naman madali na pagdaan ‘yung mga ganyang bagay sa publiko kaya gusto ko po muna i-address ‘yun privately bago ko po siya pag-usapan publicly,” he said.

During his interview with Diaz, Blanco expressed how much he misses Jose and Jose’s siblings, hoping they would communicate again in the future.
The actor — known for his roles in “One More Chance,” “A Second Chance,” and “A Killer Bride” — shares his three kids with a former non-showbiz partner, Filipino-Kiwi Tania Creighton.
