Sunshine Garcia’s husband to donate salary to affected sectors of oil price hike

Sunshine Garcia of SexBomb Girls commended her husband, actor-politician Alex Castro, after he shared that he would be donating his salary to the affected sectors of the oil price hike. 

Castro took to Facebook on Friday, March 13, to publicize his plan to donate his salary to the affected individuals of the oil price hike, tagging his wife’s profile. 

“Ma Sunshine Garcia, yung sweldo ko, idonate ko muna sa mga sektor na naapektuhan ng taas ng gasolina, ikaw na muna bahala sa ulam natin,” he wrote. (Ma Sunshine Garcia, I will donate my salary to the sectors affected by the high fuel prices; you take care of our food first.) 

In response, Garcia wrote back, “Very good, papa. Yes, si Mama na muna bahala. I got you ! Dami kong booking ngayon.” (Very good, papa. Yes, Mama will take care of it first. I got you! I have a lot of bookings now.) 

Castro, who’s currently serving as the vice governor of Bulacan since 2022, earlier revealed that the 12th Bulacan Legislative Assembly has formally approved two proposed resolutions aimed at protecting the welfare of Bulacan residents against the effects of rising petroleum prices and exploitative practices in the sale of petroleum products. 

“Among those approved is Proposed Provincial Resolution No. 20-2025, which strictly calls on cities and towns in the Province of Bulacan to closely monitor and revoke the business permits of establishments involved in overpricing, profiteering, hoarding, or restricting the sale of petroleum products,” read the resolution. 

“Meanwhile, Proposed Provincial Resolution No. 21-2025 was also approved, requesting the National Government to provide fuel subsidies for farmers, fishermen, and public vehicle (PUV) drivers in the Province of Bulacan,” it continued. 

The said proposals were authored by Castro, who is also the chairman of the Special Session of the Executive Council. 

The Philippines was among the affected countries in the increase in oil prices caused by the crisis in the Middle East, which has had a major impact on the agriculture, fishing and transportation sectors. 

Meanwhile, Garcia and Castro were recently thrust into the spotlight after Alvin Aragon, the husband of former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona, criticized the actor-politician for letting his wife participate in the girl group’s recent reunion concert. /ra
