Andi Eigenmann warns vs scammer using her name for fake donation drive
Andi Eigenmann informed fans that a scammer has been using her name to solicit money from her friends for a supposed donation drive.
Eigenmann warned the public via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Feb. 26, sharing screenshots of the poser’s conversations with the actress’ friends.
In one of the conversations, the scammer was soliciting donations for Eigenmann and her partner Philmar Alipayo’s supposed “donation drive” for surfers and sea cleanup.
“Warning! Someone is posing as me on Telegram and attempting to solicit money in the guise of a donation drive! Please be advised that I will never in my life ask anyone for money,” Eigenmann said.
“Please do not engage! Please do not assume I talk that way through messaging either,” she stated.
Addressing the scammer, Eigenmann added, “Please fix your grammar if you want to pose as me!”
Aside from a supposed donation drive, the scammer also attempted to borrow money after they supposedly reached their daily withdrawal limit.
“Nice try, scammer! You could’ve at least tried to take notes off my tone on social media,” she said. “It takes a slytherin to impersonate a slytherin.”
Prior to Eigenmann, several other celebrities also became victims to such a modus, including Vice Ganda, Rufa Mae Quinto, Marvin Agustin and Ronnie Liang. /ra
