Raymond Gutierrez defends brother Richard after Sarah Lahbati’s interview

Raymond Gutierrez came to the defense of his twin brother, Richard Gutierrez, following remarks made by the latter’s estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati about whether she felt the need to ask for financial assistance for her two children.
In a comment posted on TikTok that featured Lahbati’s recent interview, Raymond addressed the actress’ statements about not asking for help in providing for their two sons, saying his brother had not been remiss with his fatherly duties.
“My brother provides for his kids. Period. School, hobbies, travel, clothing, staff and everything else they need. The kids split their time equally between both parents. I can’t sit here and watch this and not state facts,” he said.
He further said that Lahbati should have clarified this point in the interview.

The comment came after clips circulated online from Lahbati’s interview with Kylie Verzosa for the latter’s “Almost Honest” podcast.
During the episode, Verzosa asked Lahbati if there was ever a time she felt like asking for help to provide for the kids, which the latter downplayed.
“No! I’ll be honest, I struggle asking for help but in this specific scenario and question of yours, no, I don’t feel the need to. I can do it so I don’t see why I should ask period,” said Lahbati.
Verzosa followed up by asking whether there was any agreement regarding financial support. Lahbati reasoned that such matters should be an “automatic” understanding.
“I don’t think there was even any discussion in terms of that stuff. It is my decision as well. It is my decision that I’m okay not getting help. I’m never gonna beg. I’m never gonna ask. It should be an automatic thing, actually. If it’s not, why am I gonna beg or ask, if I can do it myself,” explained Lahbati.
Princess treatment
Verzosa also praised Lahbati for being a strong, independent woman with firm thoughts about raising her kids on her own, and so the latter interjected as asked if she entertained thoughts of being treated as a princess.
“Do I ever want to be a princess? Yes… Oh hell, yeah! I want to be babied, I want to be a princess. I don’t want to be a soldier all my life,” said the Swiss-Filipino actress-influencer.
As to whether she is ready for love, she said that she is “definitely curious” if it would happen to her right now since her “whole world” revolves around her children and her job. “Love is not necessarily a priority, but then I know it’s gonna come, and I want my fairy tale. I want that giddy feeling again, and see what it’s gonna be like for me because I know I have lots to give. So it’s just there,” she said.
Lahbati and Richard share two sons, Zion and Kai. The former couple married in civil ceremonies in 2020, but separated in 2024.
Richard is now in a relationship with actress Barbie Imperial. The latter recently said in an interview that “all is well” between her and Lahbati. /edv
