Marcos invites Jessica Sanchez to perform at Asean summit

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Tuesday received Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez in a courtesy call at Malacañang Palace, where she was invited to perform at the upcoming Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) summit.
During the meeting, Marcos congratulated the 30-year-old singer for bringing pride to the country following her win on America’s Got Talent 2025.

“You made us all very, very proud,” Marcos told Sanchez.
Marcos then invited her to perform during the country’s hosting of the Asean Summit and Related Summits in 2026.
“We’ll be in Cebu. You have to do a tour around the Philippines so that everybody can see you. We only saw you on TV,” Marcos told Sanchez.

Sanchez welcomed the invitation, saying, “I’m very excited for that. I think I need some time to really plan out what I’m gonna be singing because I’ll be representing the Filipinos, so I wanna take my time figuring out my song choices.”

She is in the Philippines to headline The Grand Countdown to 2026, a New Year’s Eve celebration hosted by Newport World Resorts at the Manila Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
This will be her first major performance in the country since winning America’s Got Talent and her first homecoming concert following the international competition. /mcm
