Gabbi Garcia reveals PCOS diagnosis

Gabbi Garcia disclosed that she has been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), saying she struggles with weight gain due to her condition.
The actress opened up about her bout with PCOS while sharing a documentation of her fitness journey through her Instagram page on Saturday, Dec. 20.
“Movement became my safe space. My release. My stress reliever. My reset,” she said. “I didn’t start working out to chase a certain body. I started because I wanted to feel strong, healthy, and good in my own skin.”
“I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2018. It’s something I’ve kept to myself for a while,” she then revealed. “But about [three] years ago, I finally pushed myself to move, to show up for my body and take care of it instead of fighting it.”
Garcia then acknowledged how she would often appear “fat” or “bloated” on television, adding how she would also have days with “a moon face and PCOS belly.”
“And now, I’m at a point kung san basta strong and healthy ako, okay na ako,” she underscored. “Kaya kong tumakbo. Kaya kong magbuhat. Kaya ko sarili ko.”
“Being ‘sexy’ the way society defines it is honestly the least of my priorities,” she added.
Garcia further stressed that her condition taught her body positivity in the truest sense, and that she now listens to her body and is kinder to it. “Not perfect. Just better. Still learning. Still showing up.”
Concluding her post, Garcia addressed those suffering from the same condition, saying, “If this is your journey too, be kinder to yourself. You’re not alone.”
