Ivana Alawi was absent from the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 Parade of Stars as she appears to be hospitalized after suffering from food poisoning.
The actress, who is part of the cast of the MMFF entry “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins,” earlier showed herself taking liquids prior to the film’s premiere night on Thursday, Dec. 18.
“Food poisoning, painful back but laban pa rin (we’ll endure) for tonight! See you sa ‘SRR’ premiere night,” she wrote.
Alawi was able to attend the premiere night, looking radiant in a red low-back halter gown.

However, in her succeeding post, the actress disclosed her absence from the MMFF 2025 Parade of Stars on Friday, Dec. 19, while showing her arm with an IV catheter.
“Here we go again. [I] won’t be able to attend today’s float but please watch and support ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll,'” she said.
She did not immediately expound on her condition.

“Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins,” directed by Shugo Praico, also stars Fyang Smith, Ashley Ortega, Ysabel Ortega, Carla Abellana, Kaila Estrada, JM Ibarra, Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz, and Dustin Yu.
The MMFF 2025 Parade of Stars, which will feature floats of the eight official film entries, is set to start at the World Trade Center in Pasay City and will end at the Circuit Makati compound. /edv
