F4 no more? Ken Chu confirms exclusion from group’s 2026 reunion concert

Ken Chu confirmed he will not be a part of the upcoming reunion concert of Taiwanese boy band F4, saying he only knew about his exclusion from the project through reports online.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, Dec. 8, Chu said he is not under any contract for the show and that his earlier statements about it were just him “expressing intentions.”
He also disclosed that he “rejected” demands with regard to the project—although he did not immediately expound on this—which apparently prompted the show organizer to “cut off all contacts” with him.
“Actually, I’m the same as everyone else. I also only realized through these things that I was excluded from this matter,” the English translation of his statement read.
“There’s some regret but I must make it clear to everyone here, hoping that everyone can understand this matter,” it added.
Chu went on to underscore that F4 “has never been defined by contracts.”
“I think everyone now has their own choice about their own life, so we allow others to be others and allow oneself to be oneself,” he continued, referring to fellow F4 members Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, and Van Ness Wu.
“I understand this and I also offer my blessings. I also hope their performance this time will go smoothly,” he stated, while also looking forward to them being complete again for a project.
‘Smear tactics’
At the latter part of his statement, Chu addressed a certain Ai whom, he hinted, has apparently been provoking him through “smear tactics.”
“If you don’t like me or you think I’m not suitable for this performance, I think you could have told me directly then we can have a collaboration—meaning, you don’t need to resort to smear tactics,” the Taiwanese actor said. “I hope you will do a good job in this performance as well.”
“Whether it’s a concert or not, I’ll go back to doing what I should be doing,” he added.

Taiwanese media outlet Mirror Daily reported in November that Chu was dropped out of the project after he supposedly disclosed details which affected F4’s comeback plans.
Days after this, Chu turned emotional during his solo concert in China, with some speculating it was due to his exclusion from the group’s reunion concert.
The F4 concert, which is organized by record label B’in Music, is set to kick off with four shows from Dec. 19 to 22 in Shanghai. /edv
