Ellen Adarna downplays idea of marrying again: ‘It’s just paper’

Ellen Adarna has seemingly hinted that she has no intention of getting married again amid marital troubles with estranged husband Derek Ramsay. 

Adarna told her followers during a recent Instagram Q&A that for her, tying the knot is “just a piece of paper” now. 

“No more na. At least I can say I tried. Been there, done that. There’s no point, it’s just paper,” she replied to a netizen asking about her plans to remarry despite everything that has happened.

The actress also shared a screenshot of a Google search on the history of marriage, as she encouraged her followers to do their own research. 

In a separate response, Adarna was asked whether she still believes in love, to which she replied that she believes most in “a mother’s love,” which she described as “the highest form of love.” 

Adarna also identified cheating, whether emotional, digital or through messaging, as her top relationship dealbreaker. “All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go,” she expressed. 

The actress’ remarks came following her public revelation in November regarding Ramsay’s alleged infidelity. At the time, she released some recordings exposing the actor’s “abusive” behavior. 

In November, Adarna shared that she had packed around a dozen suitcases as she prepared to leave Ramsay’s residence. The actor returned to his house shortly after the actress left. 

Adarna recently admitted that she asked for “signs” prior to her separation from Ramsay and recounted how it came in the form of a painting with the word “malaya” (free) written on it. 

The couple had faced breakup rumors for months, which Ramsay denied in September. They married in November 2021 and welcomed their daughter Liana in October 2024.

Adarna was previously in a relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz. They share a son, Elias. /ra
