‘PBB Celebrity Collab 2.0’: Luis Manzano returns as host, new housemates revealed

It was a season of new beginnings as “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” kicked off with the return of Luis Manzano as a host, the reveal of its new housemates, and a new duo of singers reviving its theme song.
Manzano’s return to the “PBB” was announced as the new season’s opener on Saturday, Oct. 25, marking his comeback to the reality show after 17 years. He was the co-host of the show’s “Celebrity Edition 1” and “Teen Edition Plus” from 2006 to 2008.
“Nakarami na rin ng iba’t ibang programa sa ABS-CBN. Gusto ko lang i-share na ‘yung Luis na nakasama niyo dati ay isa nang asawa at isang ama,” he told the titular Big Brother in the confession room before taking his post. “Kinakabahan ako. Iba ang impact ng Bahay ni Kuya sa viewers and sa housemates. To be part of it is another blessing.”
(I had a lot of programs in ABS-CBN. I also want to share that the Luis you knew back then is now a husband and a father. I’m nervous about coming back. “Pinoy Big Brother” had such a huge impact on the viewers and its housemates. To be part of it is another blessing.)

For the current edition, the celebrity housemates will be chosen from the teen stars and Gen-Z celebrities from ABS-CBN’s Star Magic and GMA’s Sparkle.
The Star Magic housemates are composed of Carmelle Collado, Eliza Borromeo, Fred Moser, Iñigo Jose, Joaquin Arce, Krystal Mejes, Lella Ford, Miguel Vergara, Rave Victoria, and Reich Alim.
Meanwhile, the Sparkle housemates include Sofia Pablo, Anton Vinzon, Ashley Sarmiento, Caprice Cayetano, Heath Jornales, John Clifford, Lee Victor, Marco Masa, Princess Aliyah, and Waynona Collings.
While the theme song of the current edition will be “Kabataang Pinoy,” P-pop boy groups BGYO and CLOUD 7 were selected as the artists to give a new flavor to the track this time around.
The song was originally sung by Itchyworms, and was also revived by P-pop powerhouses SB19 and BINI.
The current season is a follow-up after the success of the show’s “Celebrity Collab” edition. However, it remains unknown if the duo format will be followed this time around.
The reigning Big Winner is the duo of Brent Manalo (Star Magic) and Mika Salamanca (Sparkle). /edv
