Shuvee Etrata is hoping to get the chance to speak to Vice Ganda following her viral resurfaced video, where she seemingly expressed an “unpleasant” reaction about the comedian.

In an interview on “TV Patrol” on Monday, Sept. 29, Etrata said that the clip was “taken out of context,” and that her reaction was meant as a joke.

In the viral video, the young actress supposedly expressed her displeasure by saying “eww” when the face of Vice Ganda was flashed onscreen, in answer to the question of whether she would rather choose the “It’s Showtime” host to be her “tropa” (friend) or “jowa” (lover).

“Nag-eww talaga ako kasi parehas kaming girl (I said ‘eww’ because we’re both girls),” explained Etrata in the interview.

She also shared that she has sent a message to Vice Ganda after the video went viral but she did not say if she received a reply.

“I sent a message regarding sa mga kumakalat, gusto ko lang rin i-clarify ‘yung side ko, ‘Meme, I was always honest about my feelings to you, I never lied. I’ll wait. Tomorrow we will see each other sa shooting so maybe we can talk things out,” she said.

Etrata also addressed her future appearances on “It’s Showtime,” where she serves as a semi-regular host, a hosting gig made possible by Vice Ganda.

“Pagbabalik, it’s based on availability of the schedule. I really love Showtime. I’m really grateful to Meme for giving me that opportunity, na dati pinapanood ko lang,” she said.

Etrata is part of the cast of the upcoming 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Call Me Mother,” top-billed by Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre.

The “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” alumna recently made headlines after her old videos and tweets regarding “favoring” the ABS-CBN shutdown and sympathizing with Rodrigo Duterte made the rounds online.

During the Sept. 26 episode of “It’s Showtime,” Vice Ganda also piqued the curiosity of netizens after he seemingly took a swipe at individuals who supposedly pretend to support him but speak ill of him behind his back.

Amid the ongoing backlash that Etrata is now facing, GMA Executive Annette Gozon Valdes threw her support toward the former “PBB” housemate. /edv
