Employees sketch stars, network execs
If Kapuso personalities were cartoon characters…
GMA 7 employees enthusiastically joined a competition to make caricatures of the network stars and bosses, including chair and CEO Felipe L. Gozon (drawn by Christopher Marasigan), GMA Films president Annette Gozon (Lexter Zamora) and SVP for News and Public Affairs Marissa Flores (Fabemar Carpio).
Dubbed “Art Gap,” the contest has been running annually for the past decade. This year’s drawings were displayed at the mezzanine of the GMA 7 building in Quezon City last week.
Among the most eye-catching were Mike Enriquez by Armon Lingat and Arnold Clavio by Nox Manto, along with some “superheroes”: Mel Tiangco as Wonder Woman (Jerking Pingol), Aljur Abrenica as Machete (Calvin Laurence Anchores), Marian Rivera as Amaya (Analyn Perez), Richard Gutierrez as Captain Barbell (Candy Mari de los Reyes), Heart Evangelista as Dwarfina (Michelle Estrada) and Manny Pacquiao as himself (George Clotario).
Winners were announced during the station’s general assembly recently. First place (P15,000) went to Maria Carolyn Ong, who sketched German “Kuya Germs” Moreno. Runner-up (P10,000) went to Leo Alvarado, who drew Wilma Galvante (SVP, Entertainment TV). Third placer (P5,000) was Jay Javier, whose subject was Gilberto R. Duavit Jr. (president and COO).
