Iwa Moto was apparently elated after Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, the father of her longtime partner Pampi Lacson, was appointed as Senate president pro tempore on Monday, Sept. 8.

Moto took to Instagram after the news broke to congratulate Lacson for his new title and urge him to “eliminate the corrupt.”

“Go daddy [Ping Lacson] You are our inspiration. Integrity is our core value. Puksain mo ang mga kurakot at mga mag nanakaw ng pera ng bayan (Eliminate the corrupt and those who steal the people’s money)!!!!!” Moto captioned the art card that shows Lacson as Senate president pro tempore in the 20th Congress.

Moto is currently in a long-term relationship with Ping’s son Pampi. They have two children together. Pampi is the former husband of actress Jodi Sta. Maria before their annulment was finalized in June 2024. They have one son, Thirdy, and are currently in a blended family setup.

Meanwhile, Senate President Pro Tempore Lacson has replaced Sen. Rodante Marcoleta as the head of the Senate blue ribbon committee.

Lacson’s appointment was confirmed by newly installed Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, who replaced Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

The current development in the Senate was amid the controversy surrounding the allegedly anomalous flood-control projects involving some government officials and contractors. /ra
