Baron Geisler, Sophia Asistio make first public appearance as dad and daughter

Baron Geisler and Sophia Asistio made their first public appearance as father and daughter at a fashion ball in Pasay City, over a year after their familial relationship was confirmed.

Geisler and Asistio were each other’s “date” at the Preview Ball 2025 on Tuesday, Sept. 2, which was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Pasay.

The actor wore a simple barong, while the latter wore a Filipiniana cover-up she borrowed from her mother, actress Nadia Montenegro.

“I’m very proud and happy na ka-date ko si Sophia. For me, this celebration is not only about art but also about family. I’m excited and grateful,” Geisler told the press on the beige carpet.

When the “Incognito” star was asked if he’s open to attending more events with his daughter, he said: “Oh, yeah. Sure, why not?”

While Geisler and Asistio have been reconnecting quite well, the actor also shared that his co-parenting setup with Montenegro is doing “okay” and “easy.”

“[Nadia is] happy and supportive. Okay ang co-parenting namin. It’s easy lang naman (Nadia is happy and supportive. Our co-parenting is okay. It’s easy),” he said.

“I’m glad that Nadia checks upon Sophia every day, at the same time sa’kin (with me). We celebrated Sophia’s birthday together last August 13,” he added.

On the other hand, Asistio said reconnecting with her parents has been “very fulfilling.”

“It’s very fulfilling to do that, and they are trying to work [things] out for me,” she said.

Montenegro confirmed that Asistio is her daughter with Geisler in July 2024. The screen veteran added that the latter “has always known” that the “Tabing Ilog” star is her dad.

Despite their initial rocky relationship, Geisler and Asistio eventually reconnected in December of the same year./mcm
