Chelsea Fernandez joins Miss Cosmo 2025 launch event in Vietnam
The Philippines’ Chelsea Fernandez was among the more than a dozen delegates invited to witness the launch of the 2025 Miss Cosmo pageant in Vietnam.
Similar to what transpired in the inaugural edition’s launch event last year when Ahtisa Manalo also appeared with a few of her fellow contestants, the 2025 Philippine entry was also chosen to attend the occasion.
Fernandez intimated with INQUIRER.net before she flew to Vietnam that she was excited to meet some of her fellow contestants, and to learn what the host country is.
The Miss Cosmo organizers piqued pageant fans’ minds when it posed a question for them, asking if they could guess what country will host the second edition of the international pageant. Fernandez said she also did not know the answer at the time.
As it turns out, amid all the fanfare surrounding the question, the pageant will remain in its home country for the second straight year. The competition will take place in Vietnam, again.
The organizers also released a calendar of activities that showed a three-week run for the competition that will start in the last week of November.
The delegates are expected to arrive in Vietnam by Nov. 28, with the first leg taking place in Hue and Lam Dong, in the country’s central region.
For the second week of the delegates’ stay in Vietnam, they will be in Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, and the tourist favorite city of Ho Chi Minh in the southern part of the country.
They will stay in Ho Chi Minh City for the final week of the competition, all the way to the grand finale event, touted to be “a beauty and musical festival,” on Dec. 20.
Ketut Permata Juliastrid of Indonesia won in the inaugural edition of the Miss Cosmo pageant, also held in Ho Chi Minh City, in October last year. She is expected to crown her successor at the end of the competition.
Fernandez is an international-pageant veteran who has represented the Philippines in a global contest. She was sent by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. to the 2022 Miss Globe pageant in Albania, where she won the Head-to-Head challenge and finished in the semifinals. /ra
