While Ruffa Gutierrez and Yilmaz Bektas are currently “in a good place,” Gutierrez clarified that she and her ex-husband didn’t get back together, but are enjoying a good co-parenting setup.
Gutierrez opened up about the current status of her relationship with Bektas in an interview with businesswoman Anna Magkawas on the latter’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, August 12. In the interview, the actress said she had already forgiven her ex-husband for quite some time.
“In every painful breakup, there will always be disagreements and bitterness in the beginning. And then, time heals all wounds. Whatever we felt at the time will come to pass. We will slowly learn how to forget it eventually. With prayer, God just heals all the wounds. Now, we’re in a good place,” she said.
The actress then stressed that she and Bektas didn’t rekindle their relationship.
“We didn’t get back together. I know there are many Ruffa-Yilmaz fans out there. We didn’t get back together as lovers, but we brought back our good relationship,” she said.
Staying on the topic, Gutierrez said she acknowledged that Bektas will always be the father of her children, which is why she doesn’t prevent their daughters, Lorin and Venice from meeting up with him.
“I forgave him a long time ago. For me, Yilmaz is still the father of Lorin and Venice. I believe that they should have a good relationship with their dad because he reaches out to them. For me, they’re of age to know what’s right and wrong,” she said.“Sometimes, they even call each other. They don’t go through me anymore. I think they’re old enough to know what’s wrong and what’s right.”
When asked how Gutierrez can describe her relationship with Bektas at the moment, she said she sees them as “phone pals,” noting they haven’t seen each other in a long time.
“I can say that we’re friends who don’t see each other because I haven’t seen him since 2007 or 2008. Instead of saying we’re friends, we’re textmates, phone pals, we don’t hang out or see each other in person. Time will tell if it happens,” she said.
In March 2025, Gutierrez shared that Bektas proposed to her again, although she thought that it was a joke. She also clarified that her ex-husband is not courting her, but she’s happy that they can freely joke around with each other again.
