Anne Curtis has denied making any remarks against Vice Ganda’s humor and behavior after a post on social media supposedly quoting her went viral.

The false statements that circulated online had Curtis expressing her disapproval of Vice Ganda’s jokes and behavior and describing them as “disrespectful.”

The fabricated quote read in part: “Sometimes your jokes, Vice, are really no longer funny. You don’t realize that you are already hurting people. Please control your jokes; didn’t you know there are many of us already mad at you?”

On Wednesday morning, Aug. 13, Curtis set the record straight, saying that the viral fake quote was not from her.

“Good morning, guys! See you on Showtime today! And I think by now you know that the post going around about my sisterette didn’t come from me… A little respect, please,” she wrote.

Sisterette is the term of endearment that she and Vice Ganda call each other.

The fake post surfaced amid the comedian’s absence from “It’s Showtime” since Monday, following backlash over his “Jetski Holiday” comedy skit with Regine Velasquez during their recent “Super Divas” concert.

The skit parodied the controversial issues regarding the West Philippine Sea and former President Rodrigo Duterte’s detention at The Hague, Netherlands, which prompted calls to declare Vice Ganda persona non grata in Davao City by Duterte’s supporters.

Vice President Sara Duterte, who admitted that she had yet to watch the satirical skit, noted that declaring Vice Ganda persona non grata in Davao would require a majority decision.

Despite the backlash he received from former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and the Davao City council, the “Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” actor received the support of Palace press officer Claire Castro and actress-comedian Pokwang.

Vice Ganda has not publicly addressed the controversy. /ra
