James Reid revealed that his current relationship with Issa Pressman has given him the desire to realize his long-held dream of becoming a father.
Reid recently sat down with broadcast journalist Karen Davila, where he shared that being with Pressman made him envision life as a future dad.
“My biggest goal is to be a father someday. It has taken over my priority list. I’d like to be very good at it. That’s something my current relationship with Issa brought out in me,” he said.
When asked if he and Pressman are already engaged, the actor-singer subtly shrugged off the rumors.
“I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff online. They also say that we’re pregnant. But I think when I’m ready to talk about something like that, you’ll be the first to know,” he stated.
Two years into dating, Reid noted that he’s very much “in love” with Pressman and that he is very “serious” about their relationship.
Last year, Pressman said in an interview that she and Reid didn’t have any plans to get married yet, stating that she was still young and that they were still “trying to build their foundation as a couple.”
Meanwhile, Reid also got candid when asked about his previous relationship with Nadine Lustre, describing it as “something special” that came with a downside.
“There was a lot of toxic culture around it. It can’t be that big and culturally impactful without having a downside. I think it was mentally stressful for me and Nadine. And it opened up a lot of toxic kinds of behavior with the audience. But I think we’ve all learned a lot since then,” he explained.
When asked if he and Lustre are on good terms, the “Randomatic” singer stressed that they remain “civil” with each other.
“I’ve seen her a few times, and we’re civil. There’s no problem, certainly with me. You know, I wish her all the best. She seems very happy,” he expressed.
Lustre is currently dating Filipino-French businessman Christophe Bariou. /ra
